About Me

I take my responsibility to help you make smart decisions regarding your insurance needs seriously. My staff and I believe that our customer’s interests always come first. We prefer to take a personalized-approach with customer-driven conversations to ensure that you are properly protecting your assets. We want to make sure that you understand your insurance policies, and how they work for you and your family.

My State Farm career began shortly after my graduation from Southeastern Louisiana University while working for an agent in Donaldsonville. In 2006, I became a State Farm agent myself and opened up my first agency in Lockport. In 2020, I was awarded the opportunity by State Farm to open a second agency located in Thibodaux.

Being a Lafourche Parish resident, I understand the people here and what they expect from their agent. I am a proud supporter of our local schools, churches, athletic programs, and various charities and organizations. I am a member of both the Chamber of Lafourche and Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce. Throughout my years as a State Farm Agent, I have qualified for several program recognitions with State Farm such as Chairman Circle, MDRT, Presidents Club, Ambassador Travel, and Central Zone Vice President Club.

My team brings over 200 years of State Farm Insurance experience to our agency. All of my team members hold valid insurance licenses with the State of Louisiana and are active in continuing education to ensure that we are compliant with all requirements held by the Dept. of Insurance.

My career working with State Farm began when we opened the doors to our Lockport agency in 2006. When James opened up his second location in Thibodaux, I was the given the opportunity to work at both locations, forging relationships with the staff and people from both offices.

I had the pleasure of assisting many customers throughout my 15 years with the agency, serving in several different roles-- from receptionist, to claims, and now currently serving as the business office manager for both locations, doing many behind-the-scenes tasks.

I grew up in Vacherie, where I currently reside today with my husband, James, and our two children. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family, decorate, design, and take vacations.

I have 40 years of experience working with State Farm Agents. I am currently on my 2nd year with the James Matassa Agency, after having 38 previous years with a retired agent. I enjoy being of service to our customers and giving them knowledge of different types of insurance-- such as Auto, Life, Homeowners, and Health. The greatest joy is carrying out the promise at claims time!

When not at work, I enjoy dancing with my husband of 36 years, helping the elderly, volunteering at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church as the Confirmation Coordinator, Extra Ordinary Minister and Commentator. I also volunteer working the ticket booth for Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department Gumbo Festival, and am a member of The Mardi Gras Krewe of Choupic. My most enjoyable time is spent with family- especially our seven grandchildren and soon to be first great granddaughter!

I am originally from Cut Off, but found my way to Thibodaux to continue my education at Nicholls State University, where I received a Bachelors in Mass Communications. During my time at Nicholls I was involved in many groups, especially those concerning helping others, which is something I have always had a passion for. Being able to help people with their insurance needs is highly rewarding. In my free time, I like to travel with my fiancé and friends and do things like hiking and attending music festivals.  Music has always been a huge part of my life-- I was even a radio personality for 3 years while in college!

I am a life-long resident of Lafourche Parish, and I have been an employee of State Farm agents for 25 years, 2 of those years working for James when he opened his Thibodaux agency, after my former agent retired. Each day, I enjoy speaking to our customers that I have come to know over the years.

I have one daughter, and an a Meme to three amazing grandsons. My favorite thing to do is visit my daughter, son-in-law and grandsons as often as possible. I enjoy shopping, crossword puzzles, reading, eating out, and attending any event my grandson's are involved in.
